future, including the homeless, workless and welfare dependent, to turn their
lives around through accommodation, education, training and work experience.
Recycling Lives Residents trained on the
Shabby2Chic project, learning new and valuable work skills and building
confidence, self-esteem and a sense of achievement. The Residents have been
working on their own furniture pieces throughout the course, refurbishing the
unwanted items into desirable and salable pieces.
The final part of the course- Carpentry and Wood Turning- commenced in
January 2011. Upon completing this, each Resident will have successfully
redesigned and restored their own pieces of recycled furniture.
Well done everyone!
